Size Guide
One measurement finds her size in every collection we have made.
Take her chest measurement, find it in the chart, and read across.
Why our sizing changed
Mi Regalia has released three collections, and each was made by a different atelier working to a different measurement standard. That is why the number on the label is not the same across all three, and why a parent who bought from us in our first season may find a different size fits today.
Rather than ask you to remember what you bought last time, we have measured every piece we have ever made against one standard. The chart below is that work. Measure your child once and it will tell you her size in any collection.
Our current collection, the Third Edition, is built to current US girls' sizing. Going forward, the size on the label is the size she wears in any American brand.
How to measure
Measure over light clothing with the tape snug but not tight. Chest is the measurement that decides the size — the others confirm it.
| Chest | Around the fullest part of the chest, under the arms, keeping the tape level across the back. |
| Waist | Around the natural waist — the narrowest point, roughly level with the belly button. |
| Height | Standing straight against a wall without shoes, from the floor to the top of the head. |
Her size in every collection
Find her chest measurement on the left, then read across. These are dress sizes; bottoms and loungewear are covered further down.

A dash means the collection was not made in that size. The First Edition runs 12M–6T, the Second 5Y–10Y, and the Third begins at 6Y — there is no 5Y in the Third Edition.
How each collection runs
The short answer, if you would rather not measure.
First Edition — Order one size up
Occasion dresses are cut close through the chest. A child who wears a 3T needs our 4T. The loungewear is the exception — see the notes below.
Second Edition — True at 5Y and 6Y
Accurate at the smaller sizes and a little trim from 8Y upward. If she falls between two sizes at 8Y or above, take the larger.
Third Edition — True to size
Built to current US girls' measurements. She wears the same size here as in any American brand.
Compare with a dress she already owns
The surest check. Lay a dress that fits her well on a flat surface, measure straight across the chest one inch below the armhole, and double it. Match that number to the column below.

Skirts, shorts and trousers
Use her waist measurement rather than her chest. Second Edition bottoms, relaxed waist measurement, all round.
| Style — waist | 5Y | 6Y | 7Y | 8Y | 9Y | 10Y |
| Clara shorts — tailored | 22½″ | 23½″ | 24¼″ | 25″ | 25¾″ | 26½″ |
| Aris shorts — drawstring | 21½″ | 22″ | 22½″ | 23″ | 23½″ | 24″ |
| Milo joggers — elastic | 20″ | 20¾″ | 21½″ | 22¼″ | 23″ | 23¾″ |
| Isla skirt — elastic | 20″ | 20¾″ | 21½″ | 22¼″ | 23″ | 23¾″ |
Clara is tailored with a part-elastic back — match her waist measurement to the figure shown. Aris, Milo and Isla have elastic or drawstring waists shown here relaxed, and stretch a further two to three inches.
Notes on particular pieces
First Edition loungewear — Lilly, Ethel, Rose and Betty
These long cotton nightgowns are cut generously and deliberately long. Order her usual size — and note that one style in this group is roomier still, so if she is at the smaller end of a size, it will be loose rather than tight. The dress chart above does not apply to them.
Second Edition — Leo, Jules and Aiden
Cut with a relaxed utility fit and worn roomy on purpose. Order the same size the chart gives you, or one smaller if she prefers a closer fit. The Noor tee follows the chart exactly.
Third Edition — hem lengths
Each dress keeps its own length by design. Margot, Adeline and Camille fall below the knee, Vivienne and Seraphina are midi, and Genevieve is a maxi to the lower calf.
When she falls between two sizes
In the Third Edition, take the smaller size — these dresses already have generous room built in. In the First Edition, and in the Second Edition from 8Y upward, take the larger size.
Questions we are asked
Why does every collection have a different chart?
Each was made by a different atelier to a different house standard. We have since measured all three against one standard, which is what the chart above does. From the Third Edition onward there is only one standard.
My daughter is seven. Which size do I order?
In the Third Edition, the 7Y. In the Second Edition, the 7Y or 8Y. The First Edition runs to 6T only, so nothing in that collection will fit her.
Why does the Third Edition start at 6Y when the First started at size 1?
Our first collection was made in 12M to 6T. As our customers' daughters have grown, so has our range. The Third Edition is made for six to ten.
I bought a 6T in the First Edition and it fit. What do I order now?
A 5Y in the Second Edition. For the Third, measure her afresh — children change a great deal between collections, and her chest measurement is more reliable than the last size that worked.
Is the Third Edition the same as other American brands?
Yes. It is built to current US girls' body measurements. If she wears a 7 elsewhere, she wears our 7Y.
Still unsure?
Send us her chest, waist and height and we will tell you which size to order. We would far rather answer an email than have a dress arrive that does not fit.
